Why Wood Look Tiles Beat Timber Underfoot

Wood look tiles sit between timber floorboards and conventional tile, and for a lot of homes they are the better answer than either. You get the grain and the warmth of timber in a material that behaves like tile. There are three reasons we keep recommending them.

Maintenance is the first. Real floorboards need regular polishing, sanding and staining to stay presentable. Wood look tiles need none of that, they take considerably more wear and tear, and they last.

Cleaning is the second. Ceramic can be awkward to keep looking right, and timber has its own rules about what you can put on it. Wood look tiles need a quick mop and a good wash, and with regular vacuuming and mopping they will hold up for years.

Range is the third. Wood look tiles are produced in a wide spread of colours and styles, from dark and heavy through to pale and light. That gives you room to treat rooms differently rather than running the same floor through the whole house.

If you want something that reads as genuinely yours, use different wood tile patterns in different parts of the house. A darker, tighter grain in a study reads completely differently to a wide pale board in a living area. It is a straightforward way to give each space its own character without changing materials.

Whether you are after a vintage feel or something more modern, there is a wood look range to suit it. Come and see them laid out rather than judging from a photograph.
